Job DescriptionSUMMARYThe Quality Assurance (QA) and Compliance Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily quality operations to ensure products meet all food safety, regulatory, customer, and internal requirements while also maintaining full compliance with employee safety expectations. This role ensures consistent enforcement of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation programs, and OSHA standards, supporting a strong culture of quality, compliance, and workplace safety across the facility.

- Supervise daily QA functions to ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, customer requirements, internal company policies, and OSHA workplace safety standards
- Enforce facility-wide adherence to GMPs, hygiene rules, sanitation requirements, PPE use, and safe work practices to protect both product integrity and employee safety.
- Conduct quality inspections, audits, and production floor checks while ensuring personnel follow food safety and safety procedures (PPE, hygiene, and safe equipment handling).
- Responsible for maintaining Positive Release Program and QA Hold log.
- Experience and understanding of microbiology to develop and maintain microbiological and analytical testing programs.
- Support contamination prevention programs by enforcing compliance with foreign material controls, sanitation procedures, and safe chemical handling requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness by ensuring programs, documentation, and daily practices meet food safety certifications (SQF/FDA as applicable), customer standards, and workplace safety compliance expectations.
- Train and coach QA staff and facility employees to ensure consistent compliance with food safety rules, sanitation requirements, OSHA policies, and workplace safety procedures.
- Knowledge to develop product and ingredient specifications and basic statistical skills.
- Escalate serious compliance or safety risks immediately to leadership, ensuring timely corrective action to prevent product safety issues or workplace injuries.
- Partners with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to improve compliance performance, reduce safety risks, and prevent quality or food safety failures.
- Knowledge of all facets of quality programs to substitute for QA Manager in manager’s absence and assume necessary operational and administrative duties.
- Drive the resolution of foreign material investigations, customer complaints as well as employe injury resolutions
- Ability to proactively take action to prevent nonconformities related to food safety and the quality of products, ingredients, processes, or the food safety system.
- Conduct facility condition and cleanliness audits across all plant areas, including GMP and 5S audits, warehouse inspections, safety audits, and environmental audits, ensuring compliance with food safety and personnel safety standards
- Compile and maintain inspection reports and records, and collaborate with all departments to address CAPA findings and drive timely resolution of food safety, quality, and OSHA safety compliance issues while reinforcing process control expectations through ongoing education.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Food Science or Microbiology preferred
- HACCP certification/knowledge required
- SQF certification/training/experience preferred
- Microsoft office skills required
- SPC knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance standards required
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience require
