Internship Summary
This position offers an aspiring strength and conditioning professional a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience under the direct mentorship of a certified Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. The intern will assist in the implementation of the D1 training philosophy across various demographics, gaining essential real-world experience in coaching, program adaptation, and client retention.
- Position: Assistant Coach Intern (Part-Time with potential for scaling to full-time Associate Coach position)

Core Learning Objectives & Responsibilities
The intern will be dedicated to training and improving the lives of D1s members (Scholastic, Adults, and Teams) by actively learning and applying the following:
Category | Key Learning/Activity Coaching & Technique | * Learn and effectively teach proper form and technique to reduce athlete injury risk and maximize performance.
Program Implementation | * Assist in coaching group workouts, personal training, and team sessions, ensuring timely start/finish.
Adaptation & Safety | * Observe and practice modifying and adapting movements to best suit an individual athlete's needs, injuries, and skill level.
Client Relations | * Foster a positive, motivating environment for all athletes. | * Learn strategies to maximize client retention through accountability, goal setting, and superior customer service.
Professional Development | * Assist the Head Coach with off-site training and gaining exposure to macrocycle/block programming concepts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field (Preferred).
- Must possess a valid AED/CPR/First Aid certification (Required).
- A strong passion for the fitness industry, high energy, and a positive attitude.
- Must be willing to be actively mentored and receptive to professional feedback for personal growth and development.
- Previous experience (academic, volunteer, or professional) in a strength & conditioning, group fitness, or personal training setting is a plus.
Note: Interns working toward an NCCA-accredited certification (CSCS, SCCC, EP-C, etc.) will be given priority consideration.
