About the Company

A global leader in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing is seeking a Metrology Technician to join its flagship U.S. production facility in Melrose Park. This confidential company is known for producing lifesaving medicines and medical technologies used around the world. The Melrose Park campus recently underwent a $250M capital expansion and features state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities that position it as a model facility within the industry.

The company is fast-paced, highly regulated, and driven by results. While global in scale, its Melrose Park site is nimble and entrepreneurial—offering a unique environment for professionals looking to contribute meaningfully to frontline pharmaceutical manufacturing.

About the Role

This is a high-priority contract position supporting a Quality and Calibration team undergoing internal restructuring. You’ll step into a visible, hands-on role responsible for performing daily calibrations on equipment critical to pharmaceutical production—including temperature probes, pressure gauges, balances, and other lab instruments.

The goal is to ensure all floor-level instruments are in proper calibration, and you'll work directly with SOPs, perform inspections, and execute calibrations that impact product safety and compliance. Documentation is key, and you’ll be expected to follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and, over time, may be trained on their Calibration Management system.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a regulated environment and is confident in troubleshooting, documentation, and executing technical procedures with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations for instruments measuring temperature, pressure, and weight
  • Conduct visual inspections of calibration tools (e.g., SPRT probes) before use
  • Travel to production areas with calibration equipment and document results
  • Follow SOPs and GDP standards for all procedures
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and Quality teams to maintain compliance
  • Potentially support data entry in the Calibration Management system over time

What They’re Looking For

Must-Have:

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a calibration, metrology, or related technical role
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry (medical device acceptable)
  • Understanding of FDA regulations, GDP, and SOP compliance
  • Ability to troubleshoot calibration equipment and instrumentation
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Calibration Management software
  • Familiarity with equipment such as pH meters, balances, autoclaves, HPLC systems, sterilizers, and temperature/pressure sensors
  • Applied Electronics or Engineering degree

Why This Role?

  • Work in a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility with industry-leading technology
  • Opportunity to make an immediate impact on product quality and compliance
  • Get your foot in the door with a global pharma company that values results and execution
  • High likelihood of long-term extension or permanent hire based on performance
  • Exclusive, urgent opportunity—interview process is fast and efficient

Interview Process

  • PS with recruiter
  • One 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview with the hiring manager
  • Decision and offer to follow quickly

If you’re an experienced calibration or metrology technician looking for your next challenge—and want to work in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment—we’d love to speak with you.
