The Technology and Manufacturing Association is looking for a Training Coordinator to join our team in Schaumburg, IL.

Position Summary The Training Coordinator plays a vital role in keeping TMA's training programs in manufacturing, skilled trades, and leadership development running smoothly. This position works very closely with the Director of Training to coordinate logistics, handle administrative details, and ensure an excellent experience for member companies, students, and instructors. You'll be involved in various training initiatives, from apprenticeships to leadership development courses, helping to advance our mission of building and strengthening the manufacturing workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communications for training programs in manufacturing, skilled trades, and non-technical/leadership development
  • Serve as a shared point of contact with the Director of Training for member companies, students, and instructors
  • Manage participant registration, confirmations, and payment collection for trainings
  • Track instructor teaching schedules, verify hours taught, and prepare payment details for processing
  • Prepare and organize course materials, rosters, and attendance records using Canvas LMS, MC Trade, and Microsoft Excel
  • Update training calendars, post course schedules, and support marketing efforts for upcoming classes
  • Assist with classroom setup, technology needs, and materials for in-person, hybrid, and online courses
  • Maintain accurate data in training systems and association management systems, including attendance tracking and reporting, and registrations
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency in training operations
  • Participate in special projects that advance workforce development and training

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in training coordination, program administration, or similar role (manufacturing or technical training exposure a plus but not required), or two-year degree with related experience, or four-year degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter with initiative and ownership over assigned tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with member companies, students and instructors from a variety of backgrounds
  • Comfortable performing both administrative work (including data entry) and higher-level coordination tasks
  • Willingness to learn basic manufacturing concepts
