Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 educational institution in Garland, Texas, is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for a contract position during the current school year. This full-time, onsite role provides an opportunity to work directly with students and collaborate with educational staff to support visually impaired learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and consultative services to students with visual impairments.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and progress.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to support students' unique learning requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to promote an inclusive educational environment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student services and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments within K-12 settings.
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and assistive technologies designed for visually impaired students.
- Ability to conduct evaluations and interpret assessment results.
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills.
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired preferred.
Location:This position is based in Garland, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas, and requires onsite presence.
This contractual role offers an hourly pensation range of $40 to $50, reflecting experience and qualifications.
