Position Description: At the Prosper Centers, our mission is to provide expertise, support, and resources that expand access and opportunity for all to thrive.

The Bilingual Enrollment Specialist provides one-on-one support with state benefits enrollment through YourTexasBenefits.com and health insurance marketplace enrollment through HealthCare.gov. This position is temporary, with a start-date of mid-November through September 30, 2026. There is the possibility of transition to a permanent position, dependent on funding.

Primary Duties/ Responsibilities

• With an empathetic and trauma-informed approach, help clients enroll in and utilize their state benefits (ex. Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP) and/or marketplace health insurance plan, conducting appointments in person and by phone, depending on client need

• Establish and maintain relevant certifications (including certification through the Texas Health and Human Services Community Partner Program, and Certified Application Counselor training through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)

• Educate clients on the Marketplace and/or Your Texas Benefits application, health coverage terminology and plan options, as well as the process for receiving SNAP benefits

• Collect and enter data in an accurate and timely manner, troubleshooting or escalating cases through the appropriate channels when necessary

• Conduct outreach activities in our six-county service area as needed (Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson). This may include distributing outreach materials, giving community presentations and attending events


Minimum Requirements

• Strong customer service skills

• Ability to provide empathetic and trauma-informed services

• Detail-oriented

• Proficiency using standard office computer programs and databases

• Ability to work on a team while handling individual day-to-day responsibilities independently

• Spanish language skills are required.

Preferred Requirements

• Healthcare, and/or case management knowledge


Working Conditions

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.


Physical Requirements

General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking. Travel between locations.
