Job Description

Job Title: Senior System Engineer


Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, configure, and manage Windows Server environments (2012+) across physical and virtual server and storage platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Administration of Microsoft Cloud (e.g., Azure Infrastructure, M365, Intune, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint)
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking systems
  • Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and supporting services for enterprise-wide user and resource management
  • Oversee system patching, security updates, and vulnerability remediation processes to maintain a strong security posture
  • Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
  • Manage storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and implement efficient backup and recovery strategies (e.g., Veeam)
  • Ensure the 24/7 high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) of critical network systems
  • Develop, document, and regularly test DR and business continuity plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems, and execute necessary tuning to optimize resource utilization and system responsiveness.
  • Provide tier 3 desktop support for complex issues – available for tier 1/2 support coverage as needed (<20%)


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or advanced system administration in a mid-size enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Windows Server (current and recent versions)
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V
  • Strong experience with TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, and firewall concepts
  • Experience working with MSP/MSSP’s for NOC/SOC services
  • Knowledge of Backup/DR best practices and systems
  • Experienced with cyber security best practices and systems
  • Proficiency in PowerShell for automation, task scheduling, and configuration management
  • Process/Systems improvement strategy
  • Strong communication skills and team player mindset
