About the Role:

As an Overnight Credentialed Vet Technician at the Veterinary Emergency & Cristial Care (VECC), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals in emergency situations. Your primary responsibility will be to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions, ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care. You will be involved in monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing diagnostic tests, all while maintaining a compassionate and supportive environment for both pets and their owners. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall efficiency of the hospital by managing medical records and assisting with surgical procedures. Ultimately, your expertise and dedication will directly impact the health and well-being of the animals we serve.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited veterinary technician program.
  • Current veterinary technician credentialing (e.g., RVT, LVT, CVT).
  • Experience in a veterinary or emergency care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in performing examinations and procedures on animals.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and other health indicators of patients.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Prepare animals and surgical instruments for surgery and assist during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.

The required skills for this position include a solid understanding of veterinary medicine and the ability to perform technical procedures with precision. You will utilize your critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
