Job Title: Activity Aide
Reports To: Operations Manager and Clinical Director
Position Type: Part Time
Location: Locations in Cary and Apex, North Carolina (5 Total)
Position Summary: Activity Aide assists with planning and providing for the residents of our Cary and Apex locations. The Activity Aide supports the efforts of the Operations Manager and Clinical Director in assessing residents interests, needs, and abilities, and providing quality activities. They are responsible for encouraging the participation and socialization of residents and volunteers. This position reports to the Operations Managers and Clinical Director. Our Activity Aide works with enthusiasm to enhance our residents quality of life by addressing the residents social, physical, and mental health. They value the opportunity to blend their ideas and personality into programs that bring excitement and energy into our residents lives.
Our Activity Aide offers engaging activities and programs that encourage our residents to explore their interests and expand their horizons. Residents participate at their own pace and shine through dynamic activity involvement. They keep activities fresh and innovative, understanding that our communities thrive from the diversity and creativity of our residents. Our goal is to build programming that enhances our residents quality of life and is enjoyable and beneficial to their well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Operations Managers and Clinical Directory in researching and planning a variety of weekend activities to meet the needs of a diverse resident population.
2. Conduct and/or coordinate designated activities.
3. Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness and participation of activities and make any appropriate recommendations.
4. Assist in the preparation and distribution of calendars, memos, and other supporting material.
5. Reports/ documents all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident reactions to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
6. Adheres to all organizational, departmental, and nursing procedures in the performance of position responsibilities.
7. Continually seeks opportunities to meet the residents' psychosocial needs through both scheduled and spontaneous activities that support participant choice.
8. Continually seeks opportunities to promote and improve the social needs of all participants through supporting and encouraging friendships and kindness to one another.
9. Is active in the planning and organizing of small group activities making any necessary changes to assure successful results for all.
10. Assists in program record-keeping and updating required documentation.
11. Must regularly communicate with supervisor and other staff, family members and guests.
12. Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and areas.
13. Must attend organizational or departmental conferences and/or in-services as scheduled.
14. May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.
15. Demonstrate interest and commitment to work with a diverse senior population.
16. Maintain and facilitate a caring, compassionate and understanding relationship with residents by answering all questions and concerns.

26. Must be able to travel between Cary and Apex locations.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
- Occasionally sitting, with frequent standing and walking.
