CDR General Services is seeking a Copper-Nickel Welder near Franklin, LA to perform precision welding on copper-nickel alloys for marine applications. Pay Rate: $40 to $45 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Potential Overtime: Weekdays and WeekendsKey Responsibilities
- Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on copper-nickel alloys to exact specifications.
- Prepare, fit, and align materials prior to welding.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with ASME and AWS welding codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols (preferred).
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in optimal condition.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard awareness.
- Work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
- Collaborate with fabricators, pipefitters, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail to support quality assurance requirements.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry.
- Ability to pass MSB Pre-Employment Mock Weld Test.
- Experience in marine and shipbuilding preferred.
- Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols a plus.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders regularly.
