The Role:
We're looking for a hands-on, strategic Controller to take ownership of our financial operations across both EPPM and our affiliated construction business. This is a vital role with visibility across the entire company. You'll help shape financial strategy, guide decisions, and support our next stage of growth. We want someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and who can keep the books in order while helping build the future.
What You'll Do:
- Own all day-to-day accounting and finance functions: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, AP/AR, payroll, general ledger
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to help leadership make smart decisions
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Develop and refine internal processes and controls as we scale
- Partner closely with ownership to shape financial strategy and track KPIs
- Lead HR functions including payroll, benefits administration, and employee records
- Collaborate with team members on tech improvements and system enhancements
- Keep things compliant, accurate, and audit-ready at all times
- Assist in maintaining and improving the company's IT systems
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar (CPA a bonus, not a must)
- At least 3 years in an accounting/finance role, preferably in construction, real estate, or property management
- Solid understanding of accounting software; experience with construction ERPs or property management systems is a PLUS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to accuracy
- Excel skills and data-savviness
- Detail-oriented and the ability to also think strategically
- Strong communicator who's comfortable working directly with company leadership
