Are you a visionary leader passionate about transforming lives? We are expanding to North Carolina and are searching for a mission-driven Executive Director to join our team. Ascension Recovery Services in partnership with Nelson Construction are opening a new substance use disorder treatment center late 2025/early 2026 in Wilmington, NC. We would like the Executive Director to join the team now to help develop programs, connect with the community leaders and programs and prepare the facility for opening.

WHAT YOULL DO:
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Establish a team atmosphere through leadership and employee development.
- Supervise and support clinical staff, including counselors, therapists, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and effective team environment.
- Direct recruitment and retention of the facility team, including onboarding and offboarding, coaching, orientation, performance evaluations, and educational planning of counseling staff.
- Create and support a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment by understanding and complying with the companys policies and practicing exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Operational Oversight:
- Administer overall daily operations, implement company policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with contract requirements and all applicable governmental standards and regulations.
- Ensure team members maintain accurate and current records on each client according to the facility's procedures.
- Coordinate with oversight agencies to ensure the quality of care.
- Program Development: Develop, manage, and continuously improve the recovery centers programs to ensure optimal quality care.
- Manage program budgets, resources, and scheduling to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with state licensing and regulatory standards and enforce adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Complete incident investigations and summaries for regulatory agencies, as necessary.
- Ensure client rights are enforced as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
- Improve employee and client retention rates through active communication and problem-solving efforts.
- Conduct regular staff training and development sessions to ensure ongoing professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage in community events to further establish relationships and reinforce the program's commitment to the area.
- Coordinate and partner with staff from other agencies and organizations to provide the best treatment for each client.
- Partner with the Business Development team to identify and engage referral sources.
- Represent the centers at industry conferences, networking events, and community outreach programs.
- Strategic Vision and Advocacy:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand our reach, increase referrals, and foster community engagement.
- Advocate for addiction awareness, reduce stigma, and promote access to quality care.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, finance, business or other relevant field required, Master's degree preferred
- Experience:Extensive experience in behavioral health, particularly in substance use disorder treatment. 5-10 years of relevant experience is expected
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a large team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of clinical practices and regulations related to substance use disorder treatment.
- Financial Acumen: Experience with budget management, financial planning, and securing funding through grants or other sources.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including SAMHSA standards and insurance requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify and address operational issues effectively
- Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance facility operations and patient care.
- Community Engagement: Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Work Setting: Indoors, environmentally controlled.
- Body Positioning: Spend time sitting and standing, making repetitive motions, and using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
