We are seeking a temporary full- time Member Solutions Officer to join our Member Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have exemplary organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
This position is based at our Main Office. Standard member service hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Actual hours for this role may vary depending on business needs , but typically follows a standard 40-hour workweek, occasional requires after work hours, as needed.
This is a temporary position with no guaranteed or predetermined duration. The duration of this position may vary based on operational needs. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee permanent placement. The credit union reserves the right to modify, extend, or end the assignment at any time.
The Member Solutions Officer is responsible for preserving the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Contacts delinquent accounts by phone and mail. Advises and counsels members of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayments. Take appropriate action to bring account to a current status. As necessary, helps members create custom payment plans to repay the Credit Union.
- Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
- Sets up and maintains accurate files and reports on all collections activity.
- Reports suspicious activity to Supervisor and/or the Compliance department. Testifies at legal proceedings as required.
- Stays current on collection process knowledge and trends in loan underwriting that contribute to delinquent/charged-off loans
- Required to complete annual in-services to include critically identified areas: BSA, Compliance, Security and Workplace Conduct.
- Follows Credit Union’s policies and procedures at all times and perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of collections experience.
- High school education or GED
- Previous experience in a credit union is a plus.
Other:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a criminal background check.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a credit check.
- Must be bondable.
