EGA Inspection is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Home Inspector to perform residential property inspections in the greater Sacramento area. Inspectors conduct thorough inspections in accordance with InterNACHI Standards of Practice and deliver clear, concise reports that help clients make confident, informed decisions.

In addition to standard home inspections, EGA Inspection offers sewer line inspections, pool inspections, commercial inspections, and air quality/mold testing, providing inspectors opportunities to expand their skills, certifications, and earning potential. This role is ideal for an inspector who takes pride in quality work, professionalism, and treating every property as if it were for a family member.

EGA Inspection is a veteran-owned, established company with thousands of inspections performed and nearly 2,000 five-star reviews, offering consistent work, strong support systems, and long-term career growth for the right inspector.

Benefits:

  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage
  • Continued education support
  • Paid professional subscriptions

Compensation:

$78,000 - $90,000 yearly DOE

Responsibilities:

  • A Home Inspector at EGA Inspection is responsible for conducting thorough residential and commercial property inspections in accordance with InterNACHI Standards of Practice, evaluating all accessible systems and components while treating each property as if it were for a family member.
  • The inspector must accurately document findings using Spectora software with clear, concise narratives, properly annotated photos, and videos when necessary, and correctly categorize defects as Maintenance/Minor Concern, Recommendation, or Immediate Action Recommended without offering repair advice, instead recommending qualified, licensed contractors when appropriate.
  • The role requires clear, professional communication of findings to clients and real estate agents on-site and after the inspection, while maintaining strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and consistent adherence to EGA Inspection’s procedures, safety requirements, ethical standards, and brand expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail is critical in the role for both inspections and for reporting purposes
  • At least one year of work experience at a home inspection company or construction company
  • Strong multitasking skills and organizational skills
  • Well-acquainted with basic computer programs and email applications
  • All Home Inspectors at EGA Inspection must be Certified Professional Inspectors (CPI) or Certified Master Inspectors (CMI) in good standing with InterNACHI, as this certification is required by company policy and insurance, and all inspections are performed in accordance with InterNACHI Standards of Practice.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of two years of verified work experience in the home inspection industry or in a construction-related field involving property inspections, with strong attention to detail being critical to success in this role.
  • Inspectors are required to hold a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for drone operations.
  • Must be comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and computers to generate inspection reports on-site while actively inspecting, with familiarity in professional inspection software.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to accurately identify, document, and communicate property conditions.
  • Experience performing commercial property inspections, as well as air quality/mold inspections, sewer line inspections, and pool inspections, is highly valued and considered a strong bonus.
