The position will be filled in our Colorado Springs, Denver, Lone Tree, Phoenix or San Antonio offices. Salary Range: $50,000.00 to $62,000.00 Annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.

Summary:

Responsible for creating and analyzing digital mapping data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support company-wide efforts in product planning, design, and implementation. Essential functions and competencies may be adjusted to be commensurate with applicant experience and skillset.

Essential Functions:

  • Catalogs and inventories GIS data, including metadata creation.
  • Develops and edits large and complex GIS databases.
  • Produces presentation quality maps using cartographic design standards for public, client, and internal usage.
  • Maintains a high attention to detail on concurrent tasks, while meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Formulates and solves problems.

Competencies:

  • Possesses oral and written communication skills.
  • Interacts with staff.
  • Proficient with Esri’s GIS mapping software, particularly ArcGIS Pro.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Competent with ArcGIS Model Builder.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited program in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, engineering, geology, or related field. An Associate degree or GIS certification may also be acceptable if the work experience is commensurate with this position.
  • Zero to two (0) – (2) years of experience with demonstrated GIS responsibilities. Additional experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in the engineering and/or planning consulting fields is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.

Physical Demands:

While performing the office duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position may also require field data collection surrounding the office or travel to remote locations. While performing the field duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee will also regularly be required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
