Position Title: Targeted Assistance Support Provider

Special Education Service Teacher and MTSS Academic Interventionist

Position Summary:

The Targeted Assistance Support Provider provides instructional support to help students achieve grade-level proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. Working under the supervision of Special Education Director and the MTSS Director, this position focuses on delivering targeted academic interventions, monitoring student progress, and supporting the implementation of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. Additionally, this position will provide Special Education services to students K-12.

Key Responsibilities:1. Academic Intervention Support

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 small-group or individual instruction to students identified as needing additional academic support including students with Individual Education Plans.
  • Deliver research-based reading and math interventions, focusing on foundational skills such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, number sense, and problem-solving.
  • Reinforce and supplement classroom instruction to close learning gaps.
  • Follow prescribed intervention programs with fidelity and adapt instruction as needed on an individual basis.
  • Provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student according to their IEP.

2. Progress Monitoring and Data Collection

  • Conduct regular progress monitoring assessments using approved tools (e.g., Star CBM).
  • Record and maintain accurate data on student growth and performance and IEP progress report.
  • Assist the MTSS team in compiling and analyzing student data to guide instruction and intervention decisions.
  • Prepare progress reports and share updates with teachers and parents.

3. Collaboration and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, interventionists, and specialists to align interventions with classroom goals.
  • Participate in grade-level, Special Education team, and MTSS data meetings to review student progress and adjust supports as needed.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication with staff, students, and families as appropriate.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all student information and records.

4. Instructional and Schoolwide Support

  • Assist with universal screening and benchmark assessments for all students.
  • Organize and maintain intervention materials, student folders, and data charts.
  • Support Tier 1 instruction by reinforcing classroom routines, positive behavior, and learning expectations.
  • Participate in professional development related to MTSS, Special Education, literacy, numeracy, and data-based decision-making.

This position is for the 2025/2026 school year, 190 day agreement and will follow the school schedule.
