Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Technician to support the assembly and installation of pumps and plumbing systems for our custom fire trucks. This hands-on role focuses entirely on technical work and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. If you have pipefitting experience, welding skills, and a strong understanding of plumbing systems, we’d like to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Install heat exchangers with valves as required
- Install master drains, primer controls, pump shifts, discharges, front and rear bumper connections, bleeders, and auto drains
- Weld pipes as needed to complete installations
- Connect plumbing lines to gauge panels
- Install tank level displays
- Use conventional and precision measuring instruments effectively
- Perform process inspections to ensure quality welds
- Operate MIG welders and plasma cutters on various metals
- Apply pipefitting and basic plumbing knowledge in assembly work
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Read and interpret truck specifications, technical drawings, and manuals
- Work collaboratively with team members and assist peers as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or degree in plumbing or pipefitting preferred
- Vocational training or experience in plumbing, fabrication, or shop work considered
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and basic plumbing systems
- TIG welding certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work instructions
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Strong communication skills; able to work independently or as part of a team
