Job Summary- This is a Direct Hire Position
Schuler Success Solutions is seeking knowledgeable and experienced HVAC Instructors to train students in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role involves delivering hands-on training, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and preparing students for careers in residential and commercial HVAC work. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and skilled in both technical instruction and practical application.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Teach students fundamental and advanced concepts in HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement instructional materials that align with industry standards and certification requirements.
- Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions to reinforce learning.
- Modify curriculum as needed to incorporate emerging HVAC technologies and best practices.
Student Engagement & Assessment
- Guide students through practical applications such as system diagnostics, refrigerant handling, and electrical components.
- Assess student performance through exams, skill evaluations, and hands-on projects.
- Provide individualized mentorship and career coaching to students seeking HVAC certifications or employment.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure students adhere to HVAC safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Teach proper refrigerant handling procedures in compliance with EPA standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, including the correct usage of tools and equipment.
Program Development & Industry Collaboration
- Stay up to date on industry advancements, codes, and regulations.
- Build relationships with local HVAC companies to facilitate job placement and apprenticeships.
- Participate in curriculum enhancement to improve training outcomes and student readiness.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma, GED, and/or proof of completion of related vocational training program
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair out of the last 10 years.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, electrical wiring, and airflow dynamics.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Understanding of EPA refrigerant handling regulations and HVAC system diagnostics.
- Teaching experience or certifications in HVAC instruction preferred but not required.
