Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs.
You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum
- Design and implement a daily and weekly schedule
- Teach beginning reading and math skills
- Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
- Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
- Provide basic care and care giving activities
- Must be a team Player and able to direct and lead a class
- Communicate with parents and other school personnel
- Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency or successful completion of college courses for credit
Course Work
- 6 semester, 90clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework, or
- Approved as a teacher or educational Director for kindergarten or grade 1-8, or
- Hold a teaching certificate from MSDE or any other state for kindergarten or grades 1-8
Experience:
- 1 year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, or
- 1 year of college, or
- combination of experience and college that equals 1 year
Other Requirements:
At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public or successful completion of at least 1 academic college course taken for credit
Current Basic Health and CPR & First AID
Continued Training-: 12 clock hours
