We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Datacenter Technician to support the daily operations and maintenance of our datacenter facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and operationally sound work cage and assisting in various infrastructure-related tasks to ensure optimal performance and uptime of all systems.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Ensure the designated work cage and surrounding areas are consistently clean, organized, and free of debris or safety hazards.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment, cabling, and physical infrastructure to identify and report potential issues.
- Assist with racking, stacking, and decommissioning of servers, switches, and other hardware.
- Conduct basic hardware diagnostics, swaps, and replacements (e.g., hard drives, memory modules, power supplies).
- Manage cable installations and labeling according to established standards.
- Monitor and respond to alerts and trouble tickets in coordination with remote teams.
- Support asset tracking and inventory management for hardware and tools.
- Follow established safety protocols, ESD procedures, and compliance standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours work as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient datacenter operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Network+) preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a datacenter, IT support, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with common datacenter hardware and network cabling standards.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in tight or elevated spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of networking and server technologies is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, if necessary.
