Job Description

Pay: $35–$40/hr (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Brea, CA

Schedule: Part-Time | After School & Weekend Classes


Are you passionate about coding, technology, and creative problem-solving? Do you love mentoring students and helping them turn ideas into real projects?


CL Academy is hiring a Coding & Hackathon Instructor to lead our growing tech program and prepare students for exciting competitions like IgniteCS and Hack United.


You’ll guide middle and high school students through hands-on coding projects, hackathon challenges, and app or game development, helping them gain real-world experience and teamwork skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging, project-based coding classes for middle and high school students
  • Mentor students in competition preparation (IgniteCS, Hack United, etc.)
  • Guide small groups through app, game, or web development projects
  • Introduce programming fundamentals, algorithms, and computational thinking
  • Encourage collaboration, innovation, and a growth mindset


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience of programming and/or teaching
  • Proficiency in one or more of: Python, Java, or C++
  • Familiarity with hackathons, coding contests, or project-based learning
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills
