Job Description:
Technician with NAVY shipboard Hull, Mechanical and/or Electrical (H, M & E) background to be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and general repair of NAVY Berthing Barges assigned to QED Systems. Maintenance background and people skills required as you will be working closely with the QED Barge Program Manager, other Barge Maintenance Technicians, Government Representatives and U. S. Navy shipboard crews that are living on board Barges to execute the requirements of the Berthing Barge Maintenance Contract and to ensure that the Barges are repaired and maintained in the best operational and material condition to support U.S. NAVY Ships crews living onboard during ships maintenance and repair availabilities. Additionally, you will be working as a Mechanic (1-3) with the Chemical Cleaning Team performing Chemical Flushes of CHT/VCHT Systems and Heat Exchangers. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be able to carry equipment, such as chemical hoses and fittings for rigging and unrigging for Chemical Cleaning jobs primarily on U. S. Navy ships. A working knowledge of NAVY repair work items, shipboard QA/Safety processes, and basic engineering practices and Navy Repair Availabilities will be a plus.
Job Requirements/Skill Sets: General ship repair.
Clearance: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check annually to obtain DBIDs credentials to access Mayport Naval Station, FL and TRF Kings Bay, GA.
