BIM Manager (Revit - Electrical Building Design)
Job Description
Job Description
Design Master Software builds tools that help electrical engineers design buildings in Revit. We’re a profitable, self-funded B2B SaaS company with a 20-year history and a small, focused team. No venture capital. No chaos. Just solid software and thoughtful support.
Everyone on our team has their own private office. No cubicles. No open office noise. We value focus and craftsmanship.
About the Role
This role is for a BIM Manager who enjoys supporting other people’s design workflows rather than owning production drawings themselves.
You won’t be responsible for project deadlines, redlines, or submittals. There are no production schedules and no emergency late nights. Instead, you’ll act as an external BIM advisor to electrical design teams across the country.
Your days will be spent talking with engineers and designers — learning how their firms work, helping them configure Revit standards, families, and parameters, and guiding them through effective electrical workflows using our software.
You’ll still use everything you know about building design and Revit — just in a role focused on teaching, problem-solving, and enabling others.
This is a great fit for a BIM Manager or senior designer who:
-
likes Revit systems, not just modeling
-
enjoys mentoring and advising
-
wants out of the production grind without leaving the industry
What You’ll Do
-
Serve as a customer-facing BIM advisor for electrical design teams
-
Onboard new customers and guide them through Revit setup and workflows
-
Help trial users evaluate our tools through follow-up calls and demos
-
Advise on Revit standards, shared parameters, families, and best practices
-
Create example models, templates, and training materials
-
Bring customer feedback back to our product team to influence development
This is not a commission role and not a quota-based sales job. These are engineer-to-engineer and BIM-to-BIM conversations.
What We’re Looking For
-
Strong Revit expertise, especially in firm-wide standards and workflows
-
Experience supporting other users (as a BIM Manager, lead designer, or similar)
-
Familiarity with electrical building design concepts and modeling context
-
Comfort leading calls, training sessions, and technical discussions
-
Curiosity about how different firms work — not locked into one “right” way
-
Someone engineers like talking to and learning from
An electrical engineering background or PE license is a plus, but not required. Revit mastery is the priority.
Ramp-Up Expectations
-
First 2 weeks: Learn our software and shadow customer calls
-
Weeks 3–6: Lead onboarding and follow-up calls independently
-
By 3 months: Confidently guide customers through adoption and workflows
Why This Role Appeals to BIM Managers
-
No production deadlines or submittal stress
-
Use your Revit expertise every day — without grinding out drawings
-
Work directly with engineers who value your input
-
Influence the tools used across the electrical design industry
-
Private office, focused environment, small team, real autonomy
