About the Role
The Quality Technician – Documentation reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for maintaining and controlling all manufacturing quality documentation within the facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS) while supporting manufacturing operations through inspections, documentation, and compliance activities.
This position combines document control, quality system maintenance, and occasional hands-on floor support to ensure products meet internal standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Documentation & QMS
- Maintain, control, and update quality documentation to ensure accuracy within the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Create and manage Change Orders (COs) and revise documentation to support manufacturing and customer needs
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all quality records
- Monitor statistical trends and maintain Quality Performance Charts, including floor-level SPC trending
Manufacturing & Compliance Support
- Ensure established quality control procedures are followed and recommend improvements as needed
- Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process manufacturing, and finished goods to verify compliance
- Support manufacturing teams with hands-on collaboration, guidance, and feedback
- Verify approved process settings are followed and aligned with customer and internal standards
- Assist with color matching of mixed inks to required specifications
Materials & Finished Goods
- Verify proper receipt, handling, blending, and documentation of raw materials for each customer batch
- Ensure finished goods meet customer requirements and are shipped with Certificates of Conformance (CoC) when required
- Verify packaging standards are followed based on customer-specific requirements
Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement
- Follow procedures for identifying, documenting, and segregating non-conforming materials, including:
- Finished goods
- Raw materials and work-in-process (WIP)
- Customer complaints and claims
- Supplier claims
- Participate with facility leadership in establishing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Quality Lab & Equipment
- Use and maintain quality lab equipment to verify compliance with customer and internal standards
- Ensure lab equipment is properly set up prior to use
- Document, sign, date, and file all test results accurately
Qualifications
- Experience in document control and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS)
- Familiarity with ISO-based quality systems, including ISO 9001
- Manufacturing quality experience preferred; plastics, extrusion, or injection molding experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, and leadership teams

- Density meters and custom gauges
