Substitute Teacher Compensation – Dallas, TX
$90–$120/day (based on education level or teacher certification)
A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher – Dallas, TX

Flexible workdays Monday–Friday (7:30 AM–4:30 PM) with half-day options (7:30 AM–12 PM or 11:30 AM–4 PM)

Implement and follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher

Manage the classroom to encourage participation and maintain a positive learning environment

Adapt teaching methods to meet student needs

Supervise students in hallways, cafeteria, playground, and classroom

Provide in-class assignments based on the available lesson plan

For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans with department heads to align with the regular teacher’s structure
Substitute Teacher Qualifications – Dallas, TX
-
Associate degree or 60+ college hours (required); Bachelor’s degree or teacher certification (preferred)

Prior substitute teaching experience (preferred)

Strong English verbal and written communication

Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive approach

Ability to lead students of all ages and maintain safety

General knowledge across multiple subjects

Ability to follow or adapt lesson plans from the absent teacher, principal, or designated staff
