Job Description
Join our team in constructing the Discovery building for the Engineering department at the UT campus. This role involves working with carbon and steel pipefitting, focusing on chilled water systems and carbon steel piping ranging from 4 to 30 inches.
Responsibilities
- Perform carbon and steel pipefitting on chilled water systems.
- Work with piping sizes ranging from 4 to 30 inches.
- Adapt quickly to changing project needs and assist in various tasks as necessary.
- Maintain a positive attitude and ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Operate safely at heights and outdoors, including on rooftops.
Essential Skills
- 2-5 years of commercial service pipefitting experience.
- Proficiency in plumbing, service plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform fabrication and fitting.
- Comfortable working in small spaces and with plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with copper and carbon steel pipefitting.

Work Environment
The role involves working outdoors on commercial construction projects, primarily from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 3 pm, with potential for Saturday work and overtime. You must be comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
