Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction projects. This role is essential in ensuring that projects are completed on budget and on schedule, contributing to the overall success of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop bidding strategies and pricing.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project requirements.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost models for future reference.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing information.
- Prepare and present estimates to clients and stakeholders for approval.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, preferably in MEP systems.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost control.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
