Job Title: Waddler or Preschool Teacher
Location: Toms River, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Our mission is to support each child’s development through play-based learning, creativity, and personalized care.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Waddler AND Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a fun and educational environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Waddler Room: 1-2 years old

Preschool: 3-5 years old

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons
  • Develop and deliver a curriculum that supports language, motor skills, social‐emotional development, sensory exploration, and early learning concepts.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Implement daily routines: mealtimes, naps, diapering/toileting support, transitions, play, and clean-up.
  • Observe and document each child’s developmental progress, share updates with families, and raise concerns when needed.
  • Maintain appropriate ratios, supervise assistants or aides, and coordinate classroom operations.
  • Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are followed (handwashing, safe sleep, cleaning toys, etc.).
  • Prepare materials and environment to support exploration and learning.
  • Observe and document children’s growth and development
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
  • Collaborate with team members to support center-wide activities and goals
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with families, providing daily communication and occasional conferences.
  • Adhere to licensing, regulatory, and center policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential a plus
  • Prior experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage in active play with children
  • Ability to pass fingerprint and background check
