Position Summary: The Spa Front Desk Manager will be directly responsible for the Spa Front Desk Agents and Spa Attendant Staff.

Pay Rate: The salary range listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual salary range for this position will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

• At least one year experience at a luxury resort spa preferred.
• Past supervisory/ management experience strongly preferred.
• Computer proficiency as well as proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Excellent guest service in approaching guests and employees.
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and verbal communication with a diverse array of people, i.e., personnel, guests, vendors, management, and executives using poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Excellent decision making skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage and motivate team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while remaining on task despite interruptions.
• Must be detail oriented, able to evaluate problems, and find solutions for all possible situations.
• Warm, enthusiastic manner, with excellent interpersonal skills and a hospitable personal manner.
• Ability to communicate and problem solve with customers and staff.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently supervise the staff and spa operation with minimal supervision.
• Excellent presentation, written & communication skills.
• Impeccable organizational skills.
• Team player who is willing to work outside of the outlined job responsibilities.
• Able to work all hours, all shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Primary Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Customer service: Develop strong relationships with clients and effectively manage customer service issues.
• Oversee spa reception and spa attendant staff: Recruit, interview, hire, coordinate training, schedule, motivate, coach, perform standards tests on a daily basis and performance evaluations annually, maintain an ongoing training program, re-certify staff on an annual basis, perform 30, 60 and 90 day evaluations on all new hires, hold team meetings, schedule transportation for international employees, develop leadership within team, and conduct terminations.
• Maintain facility: Conduct daily evaluations of spa appearance, schedule maintenance, ensure that hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained by all staff, and ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed by all staff, ensure that all equipment is current and in perfect working condition.
• Financial Responsibility: Adhere to budget in all purchasing requests; monitor the monthly Profit and Loss Statement, complete weekly payroll and manage time edits daily.

Additional Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Participates in the development of SOP’s.
• Participates on the Resort Orientation Panel.
• Helps lead Sanctuary Orientation in the absence of the Spa Director and Spa Manager. Will serve as Spa Manager on Duty, including preparing and leading line-ups, addressing guest challenges, conducting daily standards tests on all staff, and disciplinary actions.
• Attend all required weekly and monthly management and operations meetings.
• Handle VIP bookings.
• Advise front desk, spa attendants, and providers on any policy changes, or other pertinent information.
• Should be ready to assist at any time to ensure optimum service to our guests.
• Assist with the requirements of the front desk and spa attendant staff.
• Be present with staff on a daily basis.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Develop and deliver presentations internally and externally.
• Perform and assist with other duties as requested or assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift minimum weight of 20lbs.
• Capable of working consecutive hours without sitting down.
