- Work with RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) in a systems administration role, including managing security configurations, access controls, and permissions in mainframe environments.
- Monitor and evaluate mainframe operating systems and resource performance, using system utilization metrics (CPU, response times, job execution, etc.) to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
- Recommend and implement system adjustments based on analysis to eliminate performance issues and ensure reliable system operations.
- Participate in the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new mainframe hardware and software, creating detailed implementation and testing plans.
- Investigate and resolve mainframe-related incidents by analyzing system errors, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide expert-level technical support to internal teams and users, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to manage system upgrades, replacements, and ensure availability of mainframe components.
- Stay current with emerging mainframe technologies by reviewing technical resources, attending industry events, and testing potential enhancements for adoption.
- Assist with mentoring and training technical staff on mainframe systems, programming concepts, and standard operating procedures.

- Ability to interpret technical documentation from software vendors and assess updates, patches, or enhancements for integration into existing systems.
- Eagerness to continually develop technical skills and learn emerging technologies as part of ongoing project work.
- Experience leading teams through the successful implementation of mainframe system upgrades or changes.
