Job Title: Intervention Specialist
Location: Phoenix Learning Center – Sheffield Village, OH
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Director of Education

Position Summary:
The Intervention Specialist will provide specially designed instruction and interventions to students with disabilities or those identified as at-risk. This role is critical in helping students meet their academic, social, and behavioral goals as outlined in their IEPs or intervention plans. The ideal candidate is passionate about equity in education, collaborative, and skilled in modifying instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with general educators, therapists, families, and support staff.

Deliver targeted instruction using evidence-based interventions in academic and behavioral areas.

Conduct progress monitoring and data collection to inform instruction and report student growth.

Collaborate with general education staff to provide inclusive practices and accommodations.

Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions.

Maintain accurate records in compliance with IDEA and state regulations.

Support social-emotional development through positive behavior strategies and SEL integration.

Utilize assistive technology and differentiated instructional techniques to maximize learning.

Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field

Current Ohio Intervention Specialist license (or eligibility)

Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting

Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and behavior intervention strategies

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to adapt to the diverse and dynamic needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, or intellectual disabilities

Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Proficiency with progress monitoring tools and data systems (e.g., EasyIEP, ProgressBook)

Training in trauma-informed practices or SEL curricula
