Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the current school year at a high school in Cambridge, MA. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the varied learning styles and abilities of students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments
- Monitor and document student progress and communicate with parents and guardians regularly
- Utilize assistive technology and specialized instructional tools to enhance learning experiences
- Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to student growth
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with high school students requiring special education services
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create engaging and adaptive lesson plans
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and behavioral management techniques
