Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the current school year at a high school in Cambridge, MA. This contract role is ideal for educators passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and providing tailored instruction to help them succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the varied learning styles and abilities of students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments
  • Monitor and document student progress and communicate with parents and guardians regularly
  • Utilize assistive technology and specialized instructional tools to enhance learning experiences
  • Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to student growth

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with high school students requiring special education services
  • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to create engaging and adaptive lesson plans
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and behavioral management techniques
