Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling, prioritizing and overseeing maintenance, repairs and renovations of the school facilities, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Managing cleaning vendor, ensuring proper cleaning schedules and standards and coordinating special cleaning projects.
  • Implementing and maintaining safety protocols, conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Developing and managing the school's facilities budget tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinating with external vendors for services, including landscaping, snow removal, janitorial and maintenance management, and holding the vendors accountable for meeting appropriate performance standards and expectations.
  • Maintaining an inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures and AHERA inspections and management.
  • Communicating with school administration and staff, landlord personnel and external vendors regarding facilities-related issues and projects.

Administrative Functions:

  • Maintaining maintenance ticketing system.
  • Developing purchase orders and submitting approved invoices for payment.
  • Assist in project bid and vendor selection process.
  • Ability to manage and track expenses effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience I facilities management, preferably in an education setting.
  • Understanding of building systems, maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to facilities and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on their feet for long period of time.
  • Must pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
