The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Blending Operator to manage the blending of raw materials and ensure compliance with batch records and cGMP standards. This role involves operating twin shell mixers, weighing final blends, and using metal detection and milling equipment. The ideal candidate must accurately follow manufacturing instructions, maintain clean work areas, and keep precise documentation. Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Operation of twin shell mixers. Verification of materials for each batch as per the batch record and sign off with a second person is required as materials are 'top loaded' into the mixers from the second-floor staging area.
- Must have ability to read and follow manufacturing instructions to property load raw materials (sequentially), close and seal Intel portholes and discharge valves, operate twin shell mixers for blending of raw materials and unload/discharge final product blends into sanitary containers.
- Must weigh final blends using floor scales for calculation of outgoing yield versus incoming theoretical yield. Use of metal detection equipment, milling/particle sizing equipment including sieves/sifters is required as necessary. Requires coordination with Quality Control on batch record signoMs and anything that violates cGMP's.
- Complies with general cGMP's, follows S.O. P’s, and Master Batch Record Manufacturing Directions.
- Screens pre-weighed raw materials into the blender using the vibratory screens.
- Unloads blenders, weigh the final blend mix and top load mix in the mezzanine for overhead feeding the tablet presses.
- Cleans and sanitizes blenders and auxiliary equipment, Cleans blender room and blender area.
- Maintains all logbooks updated with the pertaining MBR information.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is extremely critical.
What You’ll Bring:
- High School Diploma or Certificate; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Familiar with the metric system.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours and able to lift 50 lbs. Lifting of raw material containers that fall within OSHA limitations is necessary.
- Other activities include material handling using forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks. Interface as either a checker or weigher to satisfy double checks and balances requirement and must be able to set up digital scales and wear a dust respirator.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $20.00-$21.00 The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
