About the Role
We are a precision aerospace machining company seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join our team. This position is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs to support the production of precision aerospace components. The role involves creating and editing machining programs using CAD/CAM software, interpreting 3D models and technical drawings, and ensuring accurate and efficient setups. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise in CNC lathe programming, problem-solving skills, and close collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce aerospace and precision components.
- Develop, edit, and optimize machining programs using CAD/CAM software(SolidWorks and Esprit).
- Review and interpret 3D models, CAD files, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate programming and setups.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues, recommending process improvements to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to meet AS9100 standards and customer requirements.
- Manage tooling, fixturing, and machine parameters to ensure safe and effective operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming (Mill Turn), setup, and operation.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Esprit required; SolidWorks strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, aerospace machining standards, and tight tolerance machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site role based in Santa Ana, CA.
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on precision aerospace components.
- Includes regular interaction on the machine shop floor to support production and ensure program accuracy.
