Employment Type: Contract - 8–12+ Months (Potential to Extend or Convert to Full-Time)
Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a national company that is seeking an experienced Contract Attorney to support its busy Procurement and Service Issues team. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to be extended or converted to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of transportation-related contracts, including:
- Port agreements
- Trucking and logistics contracts
- Project site transportation contracts
- Train car leases
- Lay down yard contracts
- Collaborate with internal legal and procurement teams on service and construction-related agreements, including:
- Labor subcontracts
- Crane usage agreements at ports and project sites
- Support the company’s renewable energy projects (including wind farms) by ensuring contracts are compliant, efficient, and aligned with company objectives
- Manage multiple contract workflows and contribute to process improvement within a fast-paced, high-growth legal department
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in any U.S. state
- 4+ years of experience negotiating and managing contracts, with a strong emphasis on transportation agreements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and hit the ground running with minimal oversight
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contract types and stakeholders simultaneously
