Insurance Defense Attorney - Detroit, MI
A leading Michigan-based civil litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Detroit office. The practice represents insurers, corporations, and self-insured entities in a wide variety of defense matters, including auto liability, premises liability, construction defect, product liability, and complex coverage disputes.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $130,000 - $165,000, depending on experience

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Michigan
- 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, and hearings
- Ability to manage multiple files independently and meet deadlines
- Trial experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Defend clients in a variety of civil and insurance defense litigation matters
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery
- Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties
- Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, insurers, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with litigation guidelines and reporting requirements
