Job Description
Job Title: Contract Manufacturing Operations Manager//Program Manager II
Location: Onsite, Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 12 months (possibility of extensions)
The Contract Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities across the product lifecycle—from prototype to mass production. This role is critical in driving supplier engagement, optimizing cost and quality, and ensuring successful product launches in a fast-paced hardware development environment.
Contract Manufacturing Ops Manager /Program Manager:
Must have PMP certification, PMP certification is mandatory.
3-5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, sourcing, or contract manufacturing management
3+ years of direct experience with contract manufacturing, including managing Asia-based supplier
Bachelor's Degree at minimum, Masters preferred
Responsibilities
Drive early supplier engagement for New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI)
Define supplier selection criteria, evaluate vendors, and lead final selection in collaboration with engineering and quality teams
Negotiate master agreements and statements of work (SOWs) to secure optimal pricing, delivery, and service terms
Lead design and cost trade-off discussions to influence production decisions
Develop supplier performance metrics and conduct regular business reviews
Align supplier roadmaps with strategic goals for mechanical technology development
Lead total cost reduction initiatives across product, logistics, inventory, and quality
Use should-cost models to guide negotiations and identify cost-saving opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally to drive product and process improvements
Build strong relationships across teams to support innovation and growth in mechanical categories
Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives beyond immediate scope to drive strategic value
Manage supplier scorecards and contractual agreements
