Civil Litigation Attorney - St. Petersburg, FL

A well-established law firm in St. Petersburg is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a wide range of civil litigation matters, from case inception through trial. Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • 2+ years of experience in civil litigation (insurance defense experience a plus)
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Client-focused with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including insurance defense, personal injury, commercial disputes, and other related cases
  • Handle cases from inception through resolution, including motion practice, depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy
  • Advise and communicate with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective case approaches and trial preparation
