Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense matters such as general liability, premises liability, construction accidents, property damage, and professional liability.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage a caseload from inception through trial or settlement
-Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions
-Conduct depositions and court appearances
-Evaluate case strategy and communicate effectively with clients and carriers
-Attend mediations and negotiate settlements
Qualifications:
-J.D. from an accredited law school
-Admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar
-4+years of insurance defense or relevant litigation experience
-Strong writing, analytical, and courtroom skills
-Ability to handle multiple files in a fast-paced environment
-Experience working with insurance carriers and understanding billing guidelines is a plus
