PositionSummary
TheRegulatoryResearchAttorneyprovidesgenerallegalsupporttothecompliancedepartmentandisprimarilyresponsiblefortheComplianceEdgeNewsletterandmanagingthedepartmentsregulatorychangemanagementfunction.Thispositionwillpreparelegaldocumentssuchasmortgagesandpromissorynotes,anddisclosuresforconsumerandnon-consumerlending,includingnon-residentiallending.Thepositionservesasasubjectmatterexpertfortheorganizationforhowloansshouldbemadeinconsiderationofapplicablefederal,stateandlocallaws.Inaddition,thepositionmayalsoincludeworkoutsideoftheUnitedStatesandcompliancewithforeignlaws(whichmaybelearnedonthejob).
EssentialFunctions
- ResponsibleforadvisingtheChiefComplianceofficeroflegaland/orregulatorychangesapplicabletooperationsandcoordinatingthemanagementofchangesthroughouttheorganizationanddepartment.
- Monitoringlegislatureandregulatoryagencyactivityforlegaland/orregulatorychangesrelatedtothemortgagelendingindustry.
- Ticketingrequeststotheappropriatedepartmentpersonnelforlegalandregulatorychanges.
- ProvidingguidanceandwrittensolutionsforusebytheCustomerServicedepartmentinrespondingtocustomerinquiriesrelatedtocompliancematters.
- ProvidingguidanceandtrainingtotheComplianceandCustomerServicedepartmentsinrelationtocompliancematters.
- DraftingdocumentstobeusedbyDocMagicclientsformortgagelending.
- ProvidingwrittenarticlesforpublicationinDocMagic'sComplianceEdgeNewsletterreflectinglegalandregulatoryrequirementsfordisclosures.
- Testingcomplianceproductspublishedforcustomeruseforaccuracy,e.g.,compliancematricesanddisclosure matrices.
- Completingreviewofvariouslawsand/orregulationstosupportlaunchesofnewforms,products,or areas of business.
- Providingoversightandguidancetointernaldepartmentmembersforexecutionoflegal
- and/or regulatory
- changes.
- Willing to periodically travel for business needs.

- Fiveyearsofknowledgeoflegalandregulatoryrequirementsrelatedtomortgagelendingactivities,specificallyknowledgeoffederalTILA,RESPA,FCRAandHPArequirements,statelegalandregulatoryrequirementsaswellasinvestorguidelines,e.g.,FNMA/FHLMC,FHA,VA,USDA
- MustbuildstrongworkingrelationshipswithvariouspersonalitieswithinDocMagic,includingtheabilitytocommunicatewellwithpeopleatalllevelsatDocMagic
- Mustworkwellunderpressureinafast-pacedenvironmentandmeetmultipleandsometimescompetingfordeadlines
- Superioranalytical&researchskillswiththeabilitytosynthesizeinformationneededforpreparingdocumentsanddisclosuresandfieldingquestionsfromcustomers,customerservice,etc.
- Excellentwritingandverbalcommunicationskillsneededtoeffectivelypresentinformationtoemployeesandmanagementaswellascommunicatewithcustomersandpublisharticles
- ExperienceworkingwithWord,Excel,Outlook,andPowerPoint
- Knowledgeofnon-consumermortgagelendingdesired
