Insurance Defense Attorney - Southfield, MI
A well-established Michigan civil litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Southfield office. The firm represents insurers, corporations, and professionals in a broad range of defense matters, including general liability, premises liability, auto negligence, professional liability, and complex commercial litigation.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $125,000 - $175,000, depending on experience

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Michigan
- 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, and hearings
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in insurance defense and civil litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses
- Prepare for and attend mediations, hearings, and trials
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management
- Maintain timely communication with clients, carriers, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with litigation and reporting requirements
