Commercial CAD Technician
Location: North West Milwaukee, WI
Pay: $20's / hour to start (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial CAD Technician to join our growing commercial department in Northwest Milwaukee. This role involves creating and revising CAD drawings for granite, quartz, and solid surface material fabrication and installation in commercial buildings. Ideal candidates will have strong drafting skills, the ability to read and interpret technical documents, and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
Daily Responsibilities
- Create and revise shop drawings and production files to meet project specifications.
- Collaborate with Commercial Templaters, Project Managers, and fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Review architectural drawings, casework shop drawings, and equipment specifications to extract critical project details.
- Actively seek missing information from customers, vendors, and jobsite contacts.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams and external clients to clarify job details and secure approvals.
- Maintain organized departmental CAD files and contribute to process improvements.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities based on jobsite needs.
Qualifications
- Previous CAD drafting experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency with CAD software; ability to learn company-specific programs.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime to meet project deadlines.
