VP of MANUFACTURING - METALS
We’re looking for a VP of Manufacturing for our client’s metal operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations. Must be living in the US & be a US citizen or have a green card.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Metal manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in an executive or multi-site role.
- Experience with 500+ employees, 750+ SF & $350MM+ in revenue is required.
- Demonstrated success in lean transformation, performance turnaround, and leading large teams in 24/7 operations.
- Ability to lead with vision & action, safety 1st focus, inspiring & developing your team.
- Ability to lead with respect, discipline & accountability.
- Willingness & desire to be present on the manufacturing floor is expected, as is building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of trust and high performance.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational execution and organizational alignment capabilities.
- High emotional intelligence with ability to build relationships, trust, and engagement at all levels.
- Decisive leader who drives accountability while fostering employee growth and autonomy.
- Strong business acumen with a hands-on, action-oriented leadership style.
- Excellent stakeholder influence, and conflict resolution skills.
- Union experience.
EDUCATION: BS degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and engineering.
- Ensure operational performance through disciplined execution, standardized work practices & data-driven decision making.
- Drive short- and long-term manufacturing goals in alignment with corporate strategy and evolving market demands.
- Champion a culture of team cohesion, operational discipline, and respect, grounded in values such as courage, collaboration, and care.
- Develop and deploy lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement strategies to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
- Establish and manage KPIs to drive performance in productivity, cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
- Create scalable systems that support facility expansion, automation, and long-term operational resilience.
- Foster a zero-incident, behavior-based safety culture with visible leadership and accountability at all levels.
- Serve as a visible and present leader across shifts and workstreams; promote a “lead from the front” approach.
- Build, mentor, and coach plant leaders and frontline supervisors; develop high-performing, values-driven teams.
- Promote a disciplined leadership cadence including clear performance expectations, coaching, and feedback.
- Promote a workplace culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous learning that builds trust and psychological safety.
- Engage directly with frontline employees and supervisors to build a connected and mission-aligned workforce.
- Support strong union relations and maintain collaborative dialogue with labor partners where applicable.
- Partner with commercial teams to ensure manufacturing capabilities support current and future customer needs.
- Provide operational insight and cost analysis to support business development, pricing, and product strategies.
- Lead capital planning & investment projects related to facility upgrades, process modernization & technology advancement.
