JOB TITLE: Pharmacy Licensing Specialist

REPORTS TO: Pharmacist in Charge and Executive Vice Preident
SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Licensing Specialist is the subject matter expert in obtaining new licenses and permits, and supports Primera Compounding to ensure the company’s adherence to state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and standard operating procedures. Ideal candidates have exceptional writing, listening, and communication skills, and will perform a variety of specialized duties that support the board of pharmacy licensing efforts. They have high levels of analytical and people skills to work productively when faced with challenging work situations and time pressures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and become familiar with the legal requirements for obtaining new licenses and permits
- Complete and file license and permit new applications, license renewals, and other license-related tasks with federal, state, and local governmental agencies
- Assisting with tracking of staff Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- Assisting with accreditation efforts as needed
- Assisting with internal pharmacy audits as needed
- Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives
- Adhering to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices
- Handling company info with appropriate sensitivity and safeguards to ensure confidentiality and right to privacy, in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws
- Contributing to the effectiveness of the team by supporting, promoting, and applying the best practice standards of conduct including those on attendance, mutual respect, support, honoring diversity, effective communication, and improving the work environment
- Demonstrate ability to work with limited supervision and manage work time efficiently.
- Demonstrate ability to work with other employees as needed to acquire needed information for submission.
- Flexibility when work assignments need to be adjusted to meet service, delivery, and workload needs of the team
- Understanding and complying with healthcare regulatory environment, local, state, and federal laws
- Honest and ethical behavior, as well as professional appearance and approach

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
- Extensive knowledge of state board of pharmacy licensing requirements
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Works independently as needed to finish own work assignments but also manages team environments successfully to maximize department, output, and accuracy
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Familiarity with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare laws
- Experience in the board of pharmacy license applications (initial and renewals) preferred
- Experience as a legal assistant would be beneficial to assist in the preparation of regulatory documentation preparation
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
