Master of Towing Job Description
Join a Leading Marine Construction Team!
We are seeking a skilled Master of Towing to join our dynamic marine operations team, delivering excellence in marine construction and heavy civil projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and manage a self-propelled tugboat and its crew
Oversee vessel maintenance, operation, navigation, and safety
Supervise equipment maintenance, repairs, and functionality
Manage navigation and deck machinery operations
Train and direct Deckhand duties
Coordinate repairs and requisition supplies/parts
Operate on both live-aboard and non-live-aboard vessels
Requirements:
Valid MMC with U.S. Coast Guard Master of Towing Vessels license (radar observer endorsement required)
3+ years’ experience operating towing vessels in specified channels
Strong knowledge of tides, currents, and weather impacts on navigation
Expertise in pushing, towing, anchoring, and barge maneuvering
Proficient with tow winches, lines, cables, rigging, and tow operations
Skilled in docking/undocking vessels
Competent in reading/maintaining charts and navigational aids
Marine construction experience and Able Seaman credential preferred
Valid Medical Card and TWIC required
