We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to manage our legal team of 3 attorneys. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. This position will be eligible for a bonus in addition to the base salary.
Responsibilities:
- This position is geared towards helping clients and managing cases
- Administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, etc. will be on a as needed or backup basis
- Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
- Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
- Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
Qualifications:
- This position is located in Santa Rosa, California
- Applicants must be able to work in the office
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Talented communicator and writer
- Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education
