Maritime Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Maritime Attorney to provide legal guidance and representation in matters related to maritime law, including shipping regulations, admiralty law, and environmental issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract negotiation and regulatory compliance, ensuring that our clients navigate complex legal waters effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and representation in maritime law matters.
- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts related to ship operations and maritime transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and international shipping regulations.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents and briefs.
- Represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution processes related to maritime issues.
- Advise clients on risk management and marine insurance matters.
- Assist clients with matters related to international trade and transportation law.
- Stay updated on changes in maritime law and regulations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
- 3+ years of experience in maritime law or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of admiralty law, shipping regulations, and environmental law.
- Experience in contract negotiation and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution.
Salary - $150,000 - $175,000
