Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance along with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing automated packaging equipment and various other machinery and equipment. This role is essential in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of the production processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairs of various types of packaging and production equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, and motors.
• Make adjustments and repairs to machines to maintain operating efficiency and reliability.
• Install bearings, seals, belts, chains, and other components of automated packaging equipment.
• Work with pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
• Perform machinery lubrication, and operate manual milling, lathe, band saw, and presses.
• Install and repair by reading blueprints and schematics.
• Assist with identifying and ordering spare parts.
• Develop basic daily plans to ensure maximum productivity is met without compromising quality or safety.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience or currently enrolled in a mechanical and technical program.
• Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial equipment and machinery.
• Understanding of industrial equipment, basic electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, and hand tools & power tools to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
• Ability to identify and install bearings, seals, belts, chains, and other components of automated packaging equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with shop equipment such as mills, lathes, band saws, presses is a plus.
• PLC knowledge will be a plus.
• Ability to ask effective questions when needed.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced, climate-controlled manufacturing and production environment. The facility is extremely clean and features 12 packaging lines, 7 sonolators, 4-12 ton mixers, and 33 relay tanks. The position requires working overnight shifts from 6:00pm to 6:00am on a swing shift rotation of 3 on, 2 off. Employees must be able to work overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
