Job Description

Remote or San Diego Office | Full-Time

We’re a national plaintiff-side class action firm seeking a senior-level litigation paralegal to become the last set of hands on all critical filings. The ideal candidate is not only fluent in legal formatting and court procedures but thrives under deadline pressure and takes pride in getting it done right the first time.

Core Responsibilities:

  • PACER/ECF Mastery: File and retrieve documents across federal courts (and some state).
  • Formatting Wizardry: Ensure every brief, motion, and exhibit conforms to local rules, chambers rules, and (when needed) appellate formatting requirements.
  • MS Word Expertise: Precision formatting, styles, headers/footers, TOC/TOA generation, citation formatting, and redlining.
  • Cite-Checking Proficiency: Revise citations to conform with Bluebook or court preferences (long form/short form shifts).
  • Litigation Lifecycle Support: Coordinate service, manage process servers, and finalize all attorney-drafted documents before filing or service.
  • Calendar Management: Track deadlines, calculate service windows, and maintain firmwide litigation calendars.
  • Multi-Attorney Support: Juggle finalization of filings across multiple attorneys and overlapping deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as a litigation paralegal (preferably in complex consumer class actions)
  • Strong knowledge of federal civil procedure and court filing protocols
  • Demonstrated experience managing final work product: from draft to court-ready
  • Calm under pressure and obsessed with perfect formatting
  • Familiar with Outlook, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and process service coordination

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with appellate filings (9th Circuit and/or California COA)
  • Westlaw cite-checking tools experience

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $105,000 annually, depending on experience (DOE)
  • Bonus Potential: Performance-based bonuses may be available
  • Benefits: Includes high-quality health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Additional Perks: The firm may offer support staff incentives and other benefits depending on role and responsibilities

To Apply:
Submit your résumé and a brief cover letter. A sample of a past filing (redacted) that reflects your formatting, TOC/TOA, and citation work is highly encouraged.
